June 25th - We Leave Rio do Sul

Good morning everyone!

I'm writing this standing outside the church in Rio do Sul. Our bus is here and we are to leave in a few minutes to go pick up the other teams in their towns. We then head to Camburiu to watch the U.S. Soccer match at a drug rehab center. After that I believe we then take several flights back to Rio de Janeiro. Hopefully we will have access to the Internet there and I will be able to update you from Rio. Talk to you soon.

  1. Thank you so much for all of the updates. They continue to help us know how to pray for you. It has been wonderful to see how God answers prayers and what He is doing there. We had a wonderful prayer time as we gathered on Wed. night with others. We look forward to hearing about all of the different trips. We continue to pray daily for your trip.
Enjoy the soccer game today! Karissa, I like the picture of you and the little girl eating. Grandma saw it and likes it, too. She is keeping up on the Brazil blog so knows what is going on. Wow, back in the 1980s it took us 6 weeks to get mail and no phone or internet in those days.
Looking forward to seeing you soon.

  2. Praying for protection today as you travel and thanking Him for what He has accomplished through each of you. So exciting that so many lives have been touched!

We pray as you leave, that the Church in Brazil "may be brought to complete unity to let the world know that You (God) sent Me (Jesus) and have loved them even as You have loved Me." John 17:24 We pray for unity among believers in the Body of Christ and that God will empower his children for his purposes across the globe. What a privilege that you get to be a part of it!

We also pray that you will finish strong the race that is marked out for you, that you will continue serving each other and all those around you - all the way back to Lincoln, a little harder when everyone is exhaused:) Remember to keep your spiritual eyes open for opportunities to share the Gospel, they may come when you least expect it. May God make an enduring imprint on each of your hearts that will not fade or lessen with time. You will continue to be covered in prayer!

Andrew - we're headed to WY. with the middle schoolers this weekend, call us when you're back in the country, well, maybe not in the middle of the night :) We'll have our cell phones. Talk to you soon! Love you.

  3. Looking forward to hearing stories of God's work in Brazil through you all. JBarr, be sure to let us "outlanders" know if First EFree does a report on the mission trip. We'd love to attend. The Goode's comment said it best: God is not done with His work yet. Endurance! God's speed, Will Tee's Mom

  4. Finish strong everyone! I know that God has given you a love for what you are doing but I also know not all of His work through you is necessarily exciting. Life long memories are being created each moment and life changing events are created through your efforts. Treasures are given and stored up as reward for your service. That's a pretty good use of your time. Congratulations! We are proud of you all but need to give a special shout out to our son, Cam. May God bring you all home safe to us...
