June 23 - Two Days Left in Rio do Sul

Hi,

Just a quick note to let everyone know that we are doing ok and getting along well. I think we've reached that point in the trip where the initial excitement has worn off and it's a little easier to get tired and stuck in routine. We start saying a lot of the same things over and over as we go into class after class. It's easy to coast through a 50 minute talk with students without thinking too much. We would love your prayers for continued energy and vigor and that we would be present in each and every moment and sensitive to the moving of the Holy Spirit.

A quick clarification that I didn't make yesterday, we don't have communication with the other teams. In an emergency we can contact the other teams, but we aren't in regular contact with them. Although it looks like in the comments section for the last post yesterday that the team in Gaspar left a short comment.

Ok, gotta go for some team time. Miss you all.

  5. today in gaspar we did a prayer walk around the town and two kids received Christ. tonight we are leading a service for the church were all the school kids will be at. last night we led a church service for the church and it went very well. we just had pastels and they were awesome. got to love the food. dont know what is going on in the other towns but wish all is well. we are at church right now playing with a bunch of kids who are at a daycare here. still tired from teaching in the classroom the last two days but we have a nice little break today. we found out that in gaspar at the school we talked to over 1000 students and shared the gospel with them. God is good. so many things to tell but we have no time till we get back on monday.

  7. Hello from the team in Masaderuba!!!
Things are going great and it´s great to hear that the other teams are doing good. We have talked with 23 different classes over the last 2 and a half days. \it´s been crazy and super repetitive. We started telling crazy stories and making steve translate them correctly. All the americans are laughing while the class is unnaware. Last night we had the opportunity to visit the church and it could use a lot of prayer. There are only about 10 people and 5 of them are in the same family. But they are excited and refreshed becasue we are here. \tonight we invited all the students from the classes to a celebration night. \this will include games, music, and testimony, please be in prayer for it. \that the Holy Spirit moves kids toward Christ. And if you were wondering why there´s so many of this sign \ it~s because these stupid keyboards are in portugese!!!

Love Ryan and everyone else Darryl, Steve, Jessica and Lee-Ann in Massaranduba

  8. A couple verses came to mind last night as I was praying for you all...Hebrews 12:1,2 and Phil. 3:12-14. They reminded me of Kim's track meets when she was exhausted and coming close to the finish line...we were cheering her on...not to give up...to "kick it up a notch" and finish strong! Think not only of those of us back home praying for you as the "cloud of witnesses" but also those in heaven who've gone before you...(I don't know how theological that is) but heaven is in the stands and cheering you on as you come to the finish line! :)

"Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith..."

"Not that I have already obtained it, or have already become perfect, but I press on in order that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

We love you and cannot wait to hear what God has done! To HIM be all the glory!
